Introducing Katie Finds Her Voice: A Story About Autism
Meet Katie, a first grader who knows a lot about autism because her older brother, Mikey is autistic. Through Katie’s eyes, readers learn that kids with autism want what everyone wants: a family who loves them, friends to play with, and teachers to learn from.
I wrote Katie Finds Her Voice for teachers, families, and anyone looking for a way to expand understanding about autism, acceptance, and inclusion. Whether you're a parent, educator, or simply someone who loves a meaningful story, Katie Finds Her Voice is a book for all ages. My hope is that it sparks conversations about autism and helps children and adults alike embrace differences with understanding and kindness.

Katie Finds Her Voice is for all ages, especially grades K-5. This book can be read as a stand-alone story to introduce Autism Acceptance Month. Katie Finds Her Voice is a prequel to my chapter book, Little Big Sister (recommended for grades 3-5), so it also serves as an introduction to the content and characters in both titles.
